“I have been to all the Greek islands.
There I saw archaeological sites that made me think: I can’t believe that everything we have read in Greek mythology is being reproduced here.

Greek history is something to which the whole of humanity must bow. Maybe Greece’s economy is looking very bad, but that does not mean that you are helpless.
Economic facts are constantly changing in Europe and America and all over the world. What never changes is your heritage, your identity.

The Parthenon is not leaving Athens. It is there to remind us that all this progress and prosperity can come back.
Today I’m in England, for example, and I have nowhere to go. See what? Buckingham Palace? I don’t care. Just like when I go to Germany, I’m not interested in seeing the Berlin Wall, which is not a symbol of prosperity, but just the opposite.

But no one can ignore Delos, the Parthenon and the Mycenae!”
